La Gaîté Lyrique is a cutting-edge art project dedicated to artistic experimentations in the digital age.In 2010, the City of Paris, at the instigation of Mayor Bertrand Delanoë, chose it as a flagship venue for digital culture. The new building will open to the public in March 2011. Architect Manuelle Gautrand has given the building a future-friendly slant. Retaining its original façade and entrance and fitted with cutting-edge equipment, the venue is a modular technological tool.
